I play for the trombone studio at the conservatory where I work, and I’ve always enjoyed playing Italian trombonist-composer, Nicola Ferro’s Daybreak and Sunset for trombone and piano. After Midnight was inspired by these two pieces.
After Midnight is a slow and jazzy piece, set in a smoky lounge where everyone is feeling drunk and sleepy. [4’02”]
This piece can also be performed on the bass trombone. Printed and digital copies of this piece can be found at Universal Edition.
