Sonatina Festivo for flute & piano

This piece in three movements describes various moods during the festive season. The first movement depicts a lively and jovial atmosphere, with lots of dancing and merry-making. The second movement depicts a lonely person in a foreign land, drowning his sorrow in alcohol while thinking of home. The ostinato B flat represents falling snow. The last movement is a mix-meter piece depicting Middle Eastern natives in colourful costumes dancing in the town square.

Sonatina Festivo was premiered by flautist, Andy Koh Pek Song, and the composer on Sunday, 1st December 2019, at the Ensemble de la Belle Musique's Christmas Concert 2019 @ the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore.
