This piece came about when I was in Massachusetts, USA, for a week-long chamber music masterclass with a group of friends many years ago. The place we stayed at was near a beautiful lake, Lake George. Although the trip was in June, I imagined what the lake would look like in winter. I could almost see and hear morning dew drops dripping from the snow-covered tree branches. Everywhere was white and peaceful, with the wind blowing softly across the frozen lake.
